), states:-

At about 03.00 hours on the £5th October, 1939,

whilst underway about half a mile north of LAD FAU SHAN

) in Deep Bay (British wateza a grey motor

boat about 30 feet in length flying the Japanese flag

approached my junk from the direction of LIN TIN (

Island. When about 30 yards away the orew of the motor

boat opened fire with a machine gun. A number of bullets

struck my junk. I called my sister named PANO WO (

}

}

17 years, who was sleeping in the cabin on the starboard

side of the junk, and asked her to hand up the rifles.

She handed up two rifles. I took one and my younger

brother named "ANG PUK (

), 15 years, took the

other rifle and we fired four shots at the approaching

Japanese motor boat. I then fired my cannon with 8

pounds of shot. The Japanese motor boat stopped firing

and turned around and steamed away in the direction of

LIN TIN Island. I then went to the cabin at the stern of

my junk and found that my sister named ANG VO had been

shot in the right buttock I then set sail towards

Castlc cak.

At about 04.00 hours when sailing off

CHEUNG SHA WAN (

) I saw No.3 Police Launch at

anchor. I went alongside and informed the European

officer in charge of what had occurred. The Europe an

officer then took two of my sisters including the

injured one and myself aboard his launch and conveyed

us in to Hong Kong, where my sister named ANO VO was

removed to the Kowloon Hospital.
